Homemade coffee scrub

Contrary to the popular belief, the hardest moment while creating a new post is not taking pictures or coming up with recipe. Most difficult is actually building the story around it. Sometimes, the lack of inspiration (or simply laziness) can really prevent me from publishing anything for a very long time. Since I’ve promised to myself to write regularly and right now I don’t feel inspired at all, I will go straight to the point: this body scrub is simply the best. Honestly, it’s the best exfoliator I’ve ever used. And believe me- I’ve tried out a lot of them.
If you happen to struggle with real or imaginary cellulite (like every woman I know ), this concoction is just perfect for you. The caffeine contained in coffee beans improves circulation to skin cells and reduces the appearance of cellulite when applied religiously. The cane sugar contributes to the exfoliating action and the oil moisturizes and smooths the skin. Summing up:  it’s effective, inexpensive and easy to make. And smells amazing. You should definitely give it a try before you hit the beach. There is still some time left.

Homemade coffee scrub

  • 1 cup of ground coffee
  • ½ cup of cane sugar
  • 5 tbsp. of sweet almond oil (grapeseed oil/avocado oil or coconut oil will also work)
  • 1 tbsp. cocoa powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon (optional)

Mix all ingredients together until fully combined. Store in a glass jar.

Zero waste tip: you can use the coffee grounds you’ve already used to prepare your morning coffee. The activated caffeine contained in coffee beans will maximize the anti-cellulite effect. Keep in mind, that you can’t store the scrub made with used coffee grounds since it will go bad very quickly.
